How hard is it to get a value at AK :

We managed to get a value studio for 2 nights and a 1 bed value for 3 nights, both at 7 months.

This was for Sept 2020 (so reserved in Feb, before all this Covid business)

I’ve managed a 1 bed for 8 nights in March 2014 & a studio for 2 nights in August 2016 both at 7 months.

I got Christmas & new year in the studio value rooms, it was tricky to secure they went so fast, it’s probably luck of the draw

1 beds are possible for longer stays. I’ve had one pop up numerous times when booking, far from guaranteed though.

I have had the one bed several times, have also booked the two bed (June which got cancelled) now booked for May 2021, thats far more difficult to book.

Ive only just finished trawling the dvc website and picking up days here and there.
I now have 16 consecutive nights in a value studio and 1 night kilimanjaro next summer. took about 2-3 weeks to secure at the 11 month window.

Here's hoping flights and safety return and we can all go!

So have you just added nights at the end or are you talking about gap filling? (Just wondered how it works if you have days missing in the middle that you manage to pick up later on - do you book them online as separate reservations and then ring MS to link them all?)

I’ve been watching 2 bed values for weeks and they are definitely being walked - I’m wanting October but think it’s doubtful because of the anniversary 😢

I know its not a normal time, but I just picked up 4 consecutive nights up of Value studio for Feb 2021 with what 5 months to go. Really helped me out due to the 50% borrowing restrictions. Won't have to buy any OTU points.

Doing 4 nights at AKL value the moving over to Kidani for 2 nights then on to OKW for 4 nights. Had to really stretch points out due to restrictions.

On the American DVC forums/groups and podcasts you always get dire stories of availability being awful. It got me anxious as I didn't get my points until 6 months out of my planned trip.

I think all the Americans seem to all want to book Weekend trips on public holidays like Thanksgiving/Christmas or 4th July etc... so we as Brits get skewed reviews of availability.

If your flexible and happy with split stays you can get almost anything you want.
