I was getting nothing with David’s so put my points on the FB group above and had rented them out (with full payments in my PayPal account) within two hours of posting. Thanks for the people who made me aware of this group! We’d resigned ourselves to losing them so the money we’ve got is a massive bonus.

I managed to rent a third of our points (banked and would lose) to pay half our annual dues. There is really no need to lose points if proactive to rent them. I had a lot of help from friends on here.

Can I just ask how easy the actual Disney part is?

We have two holiday periods to rent (4 days and 5 days) I was thinking of trying to rent the booked periods rather than the points.

Is it just a matter of hopefully finding someone who wants to buy, agreeing the price and money transfer and then just ringing Disney with change of names for the booking?

I hope it is this simple

Thank for any help, Ann.

Yes, just make sure you clearly state your terms and conditions regarding changes/cancellations/future resort closures etc before you accept payment and you're good to go.

Go look on the other thread 'Driving down points value', loads of info in there.

We tried to sell pre booked slots but found advertising the points themselves (while keeping the slots until someone actually wanted the points) was getting more hits. We sold over 200 points in a couple of days this way.

Changing the names on a booking is as easy as a quick phonecall.

I was able to change the lead name on a booking with Live Chat. No phone calls at all.

I have managed to sell my banked points, so where do I buy the Disney gift cards and how do I apply them to my dues, can I do that before January when the dues need to be paid?

I think you can buy the gift cards from the Uk Disney Store site now.

When you get a gift card emailed to you it comes as a 16 digit number, you just put that into the section in 'pay my dues by contract' on DVC. They will be applied as a credit for next year.
