Go Pro use in parks
Taking my Go Pro this September, I’ve read that it’s a no go for rides at Universal, but ok for most at Disney.
Anyone any experience of this, also for Disney I read “Short, brand name GoPro handles are allowed”. Do they really check that they are brand name?

No. Nothing to do with brand as long as it doesn't extend.

I think you find the problem was selfie sticks, they got banned plus any other kind of hand held extension poles for cameras, not the actual cameras.

Not allowed cameras on most rides in universal. They have free lockers near the big rides for the duration of your ride.
It’s a shame Disney don’t ban cameras from rides too. Nothing worse than a camera in your face from the person in front. Or a lit up screen glaring at you in the dark. That being said, Disney tend to allow gopros, just no selfie sticks. Might be better with a wrist mount so nothing to hold perhaps. |

You're fine. We have a different handle for it, as long as they don't extend. Sometimes they do check your mounts are official goPro. We have the wrist strap and that's allowed as it has the thumb hole, unofficial ones without the thumb hole are sometimes denied. Depends on the cast member.
