How weird! As I read this I had an E Mail come in from ResaleDVC.com
Animal Kingdom 160 Points June Use Year. (160 Points banked and 160 coming in June) for $110 a point. Can close after 12th May.

With haggle room that's a good deal as you could rent out those banked points probably.

Never buy direct.

I didn’t know that - 10% off my empanadas is good!
Thanks.

That is a good deal, get it for say 105, if you can rent out the points, that brings it down to 90 ish a point- and direct they want 175?

Thanks.
I do not eat dessert but the churros are very nice there and I have been known to indulge as a snack when hungry after 20,000 steps.

Just another voice encouraging you to carefully consider indirect. The perks can and do go away on the whim of Disney. There have been various points of outraged members over the years when perks were removed!

Fab - thanks for all your responses. Really interesting. Need to look into resale - any sugfestions on where to start?! Dont think I'm going to buy THAT many souvenirs! Do you book in the same way as you would direct? I thought Disney were making it more difficult to buy resale... Thanks again for brilliant responses...

We bought through resalesdvc/ but there are other companies. Check them all and see if you can find a contract that appeals.

You book the same.

Many resale agents. There is DVCresalemarket, Jason on here (Buy and Sell DVC), DVC Resales (Tutas), Fidelity and others. There’s about half a dozen DVC specialist agents, sign up to their emails and apps. Only use a DVC specialist. It is very simple to buy.

OP I know DVC can be great (I still love mine) but it isn’t for everyone and based on your queries you still have a way to go with research before committing. Read everything you can to understand how everything works, booking, availability, what you can book, what Disney can change (and yes they can change things). Also dues, how much when and for how long as this is what mounts up.

Once you have covered the above, and more, if it still works for you and how you holiday and want to holiday then go for it.

I see you have gotten a lot of help so far but if you buy direct the only discount on the tickets is for the annual pass. The Disney Dining Plan is the same for members who buy direct or resale. Magical Express is provided to both those that purchase direct or resale. I assume you want to be able to make a reservation at Animal Kingdom 7 to 11 months in advance which is your reason for owning there.

As others have mentioned you want to sign up for the email updates from the different companies to watch for the new listings.
