Universal App

We are going on Friday and I've just stumbled across the Universal app. I have created an account, although I'm not too sure what for?

I know I can use it to get a queue time for JF, presumably after Ive linked my ticket? Can i link my husband's ticket too or does he need his own account? If so does this mean we will both have to take our phones out with us so we can book a virtual queue time?

I have linked my bank card to the app but we are staying on site for three weeks - will the app know this and link universal pay to my room account?

I guess I'm asking what the app is for and how similar it is to MDE, which is amazing! Any advice at all fully welcome!

We got a ticket for New York through the app, you don't need to link your ticket but you need to be within the park before you can book it. You just select how many people and what time you want. You could alternatively get a ticket from the attraction entrance.
If you're on site they ask you at check in whether you want charging privileges on your room key. Linking your bank card to the app and your tickets only helps you in VB where you use tapu-tapu.

Just looking back at my old posts and thought I might add that if you have express passes you don’t need a time for JF - you can go on any time you like by just turning up at the entrance.
