Yes, of course - “Once child starts at school we’ll not return as we’ll never afford August prices”

Ha Ha! That’s up there with “once in a lifetime trip to Florida”. I said that 6 years and 3 Florida trips ago!

Like all of us here, you’re an addict and we addicts get what we want. Usually by connecting, or flying into Fort Lauderdale, Tampa or Miami and driving and/or using the dibb annual glitch flight thread.

Add to that staying offsite on International Drive instead of onsite Disney, reducing your hotel costs to a fraction of those charged by the mouse. And from I-Drive Universal is an easy-peasy $7 Uber (as opposed to $14 for Disney). And you’ll be able to do the cheaper Sea-world and Legoland, and the bus to Busch Gardens. In fact one way to save money in August is to go on a Florida Holiday without Disney and get combo tickets to the non-Disney parks!

So. My advice. You’ve only 11 days this time and paid for your Disney ticket for all 11. There’s far more for your 3yo daughter in Disney than anywhere else, so stick to current plans. You’ll be planning another Florida trip soon enough - from one addict to another!

I couldn’t go to Florida and not visit Universal myself, it really is amazing! The Harry Potter areas are incredible if you’re a fan and definitely not to be missed.

Our 4 kids all prefer Universal. They are aged between 4 and 11! The curious george water area is awesome for the little ones! We usually skip Disney and just do Universal

I would say do it. HP is amazing and there is plenty to do and especially as you said you won't be going back anytime soon.

My DD was under 3 when we first went to universal and it's all she talked about for the next year! She loved the Woody woodpecker rollercoaster,ET and Curious George's play area in Universal and Dr Seuss land in IOA.If going all that way and you can afford the tickets then I would definitely go.
