Hollywood Studios - A waste of a day?

Hi All,
We go to Orlando on 6th June. I realise this is before Toy Story Land opens (although the Disney website shows Toy Story Mania still open thankfully).
When I look at the website it just seems Hollywood studios is a bit of an empty shell now really - Toy Story Mania & Tower of Terror is all that really jumps out in terms of "attractions" along with a couple of shows.
Am I missing something or is it really a bit of a building site at the moment? Would half a day maybe cover it?
Thanks!

You can fill more than a day even without toy story land open.

We love h studios ...admittedly it is going through a bit of a transitional period! We will be there the month before toy story land opens . I have scheduled one day there but a slightly later start. We love the shows, beauty and the beast, indiana jones, frozen, little mermaid. Also staying for fantasmic. There is a lot of star wars if thats what you or family like. We are not into the big rides but there is tower of terror , rock n rollercoaster which some people love .We like the atmosphere of h studios and mainly the shows. Apparently the star wars fireworks are amazing. 😀

Another family who love DHS - if I am being honest even if you get your Fast passes sorted for Rock and Roller, Tower of Terror and 1 other from the list available on your Disney booking you will still have a couple of shows to add into the equation as well as a wait for Toy Story Mania.
We have tended to split the day there and enter early, and queue in the regular line - have FP's from around 11 until 3 then return to hotel / villa and have food outwith the park.
We return for the evening as both firework shows are unmissable.
Yes, it is being given a major upgrade and I have called it a building site on more than many occasions - but never a half day, you will just miss so much.

If you've got youngsters the Disney jnr show is fun to watch. Plus there are sofia/doc mcstuffins & Jake meets just by the theatre as well.

There's quite a bit of star wars stuff including Star Tours.

Frozen sing a long - very very funny show. Indiana Jones stunt show. Beauty & The Beast Show.

I don't do rock n roll coaster or TOT and still finds lots to do but guess it all depends on what you like x

We happily spent the whole day there last summer... think we rode all the rides, some twice - used the 3 fast passes before 12 and then just continued getting a 4th, 5th, 6th and so on. Did the frozen and Indiana Jones shows, had dinner at sci fi, did some character meets and then finished the day off at fantasmic! Plenty to do!

Rock n roller , tower of terror, Star Wars launch Bay , beauty and the beast is amazing , Star Wars fireworks ( stand in the middle for better allround view and sound effects) . Star tours , Indiana Jones and toy story mania . Also love the Star Wars meet and greets, groot meet and greet and Olaf , all excellent. Food would be mama Melrose , sci fit and Hollywood scoops. Fantasmic is good but Star Wars better if you have to choose. Love the pop up meet and greets as well. A chill by the lake with an ice cream or slush is nice for a breather.
Forgot frozen, great casting and great show even if you arent a frozen fan,

We went twice last August. One early morning to get as many rides done as possible and one late night so we could see the Star Wars fireworks. (Didn't do Fantasmic this time) we probably spent 12 hours in total and didn't do everything. Still plenty to do dependent on what you like.
