Rogue One - Day 10 – Thomas’s Birthday.

Thomas is 12 today!

this means Thomas is ‘in charge’ of today so somewhat unsurprisingly we are spending the in the Harry Potter world.

We rode escape from Gringotts and just walked around Diagon Alley in awe of how fantastic it is.


We hadn’t ever been on the Hogwarts Express so this was also a major surprise at how substantial the ride is.

We arrived at IoA to ride Forbidden Journey.

After this Thomas insisted we ride every water ride in IoA and Spiderman.
By this time it was also clouding over so we were cold and stopped for a Starbucks, although G&T then chose iced drinks.

After the boys had drunk enough of my latte to warm themselves up. We went to Toothsome for birthday cake and stuff. The brunch menu is great.

We had a bit of downtime back in the hotel room.

Then the birthday boy wanted to go wand shopping (of course).

Most of the time was spent in Ollivanders choosing the correct wand (we did the experience 3 times but weren’t chosen).

Much to my delight the boys chose the Hard Rock Café for dinner.

& he got a birthday Sundae for pudding. Which was great, although he was slightly perturbed by the number of people who also had the birthday and one point he complained to me ‘but it REALLY is my birthday’.

The boys pin traded with the waiter which was very good of him as in Universal they don’t actually have to trade, plus I don’t think he really liked their pins.

Then we went back to the pool for a late-night swim.
