Hi Markb

We got our Viz - a girl called Juno in March. She is our first dog.
Biggest tip - research the breed extensively, they’re known as the Velcro dog!
There are some very good Facebook groups that we joined which have lots of advice.
We are totally besotted by her and she is so clever!

We've had Vislas for over 30 years
The are commonly know as Velcro dogs and ours have always been so
They will walk to the end of the earth with you but just as happy if not happier if it's tipping it down to nip out for a quick pee or should I say be thrown out after 12 hours
Fantastic with children of all ages cats and small cage pets if you set the rules from day one
Quiet in the barking department i.e. When somebody comes to the door but they talk to you in as much as they well, ours do a very low almost inaudible moaning when they want something
They can be Persistant if they want something as in they sit in front of you with a look
They are creatures of habit so don't walk or feed at the same time every day
None of ours have ever been destructive as puppies but they have been crated and have their crate which they can go in / outvof if they want
Great in the car but again in a crate Grooming daily brush they do cast
But it's easy to brush up on hard floors or hoover butvthey do like to roil in alsorts of poo ours are not fussy and while DH describes them as Martini girls when it comes to water they will swim anywhere any time but Ballet dance round a puddle and in the winter we have to use mushers wax on there paws the grit goes for them
Training if you don't want them on the sofa /beds to mootch when you are eating etc start that from day 1 all ours will get off the couch if we are even eating an apple or packet of crisps and look for nothing
They are the Jessie's drinkers ever 70% of the water goes on the deck
Here's how much we love ours cost us more to tskechim than business both ways for 2 of us on our snowbird trip

We have a Hungarian Vizla crossed with a Labrador. We've only had him a short while. He is only 4 months old. He loves attention but is usually very chilled out. I heard that they love to go for walks but Shadow always ends up virtually crawling up DH halfway through a 20 minute walk!

We have a wire haired vizsla, he is fabulous like a previous poster he has never chewed anything, fitted in to the family so well, and has been great with kids of all ages. Be prepared for the zoomies when they run round the garden like a loon for a few minutes, be prepared for the 'not on the sofa, not on the bed' rule to be broken fairly quickly but most of all be prepared for the most amazing addition to your family as they really are full of personality, he makes me laugh every day, he loves to have a hug every day and I wouldn't be with out him
