Planning Help And Advice for large group!

Hi everyone

I hope you can help me! I am a very keen planner of our Disney and Florida holidays and have numerous spread sheets and plans on the go all the time!

However, I have been asked by a close friend to help them plan their family and extended family holiday and don’t want to give the wrong advice!

What advice would you give for planning a 2 week trip for 15 people wanting to stay on site?

I look forward to all your great tips that I can pass on😉

TIA

I've never been with 15 but we did do 10 off site. We needed 2 cars and even then found the groups in one car wouldn't agree on leaving times etc. I think with a large group you need to know what are the things for the whole group want to do together and then let smaller groups plan independently. If on site this is a lot easier.

Are they happy to split in in a restaurant for meals.
the best advice I have is be realistic about how much time they want to be all together. We found even within our immediate family we all had a different idea of what makes a good holiday .
Get some must do from every member of the group.

As above, but also if not doing free dining and keeping a kitty, consider a separate kitty for alcohol, or those who want to drink buy their own.

best to plan a few things all tohgether, but also give people the information and let them do the leg work themselves e.g booking FP, which parks they go to.

The biggest thing is I think to make sure that there are some rest days (they might be different days for different bits of the group, and an agreement that no-one should have to do something they don't want to, but some things might go by majority e.g. 3 people want to rope drop, the rest want a more leisurely start. Unless there are sufficient cars, the rope drop people should Uber and leave the cars for the others.

Phew that’s a lot of people. My biggest was 13!

Practically speaking the things you need to know to plan it are:-

1) How is the party splitting in terms of accommodation? How many people in each room etc?

2) Dining - who wants to eat where? If there’s some in the party that have been before, they might have a few favourite restaurants. Ask them to write them down so you can try and plan an itinerary of sorts. This will also be dependent on what dining plan they have. Spreadsheets are handy for credit counting.

Are they separate families? Who wants to eat with who?

3) Rides. This will depend on the ages of the people in the party but who likes fast rides? Slow rides? Shows? I would get everyone to pick one ride they want to go on over the course of the holiday

In general, rest days are essential. Try and have a rest day every other day. Late nights followed by late mornings etc etc.

If you need any specific help, PM me
