Thank you. I encourage anyone with my issues to do the work to tackle their demons. It took me 9 years between my first (horrific) US long haul flight to my second to do it again. But then I’ve kept doing it again annually for the subsequent 12 years. Do I like it now. Not at all it makes me feel every kind of hideous. But your mind is both your worst enemy and your best friend. You just need to control who you take on a flight with you 👍 (also take that paper bag)

I’m fine with flying but I hate the airports, I’m nervous checking in and going through security etc. I have never wanted to fly indirect as I am stressed about missing the connection. However we are flying indirect to Vietnam this year for the first time (which I am not looking forward to)

My DH had a fear of flying and never flew until he was 40 (I persuaded him to try it) Since then, he loves it. He actually finds the whole thing quite exciting and loves sitting near the wing and watching the flaps and he comments on things such as the landing wheels going down etc as if it’s interesting 😀

I don’t like it but I’m getting better oddly enough, I always used to cry on take off (I’m ok once I’m up there & will quite happily look out the window ! )

I’m much better flying over land than I am water though !

As others have said, it’s what I have to do to get where I want to go !

I used to enjoy it, but I feel more apprehensive as I get older about being in the air and the unknown happening, planes going missing and the terrorist attacks - I know that’s far fetched and unlikely to ever happen to me but it’s still in the back of my mind. I like to sit on the aisle so I can get out of my seat quickly.

I am looking forward to switching my phone off for 9 hours and also watching back to back films.. that would never happen at home.

Ultimately I know the flight leads to the end destination so it wouldn’t stop me from travelling.

Me I love the whole airport/plane experience the only thing I don't enjoy is the immigration queue at the end.

I quite like flying and enjoy turbulence and storms too but I do get bored I admit. I get on, have the drink, have the meal, watch a movie, fall asleep, wake up thinking I've been onboard for about 8 hrs, cant be much longer, and find out that it's actually only 4hrs into the 9hr flight ARGH.

*but* the airport experience fills me with dread. The overselling of seats means we've been bumped from our seats and sometimes even the plane. The whole crazy security with sarcastic jobsworths, the screaming kids and the sometimes endless delays. Shudder.

I have to say I hate flying! If its a short flight then its not too much of an issue but the long haul I find horrible

Your just all crammed in and it seems to take forever to get to your destination, doesn't matter if I have a book or tablet loaded with tv shows/films to distract me...for me it drags! Also doesn't help when the person in front reclines their seat in your face and refuses to put it up when the food is being served

My other half is the complete opposite, he doesn't mind flying at all and 9 times out of 10 he is already asleep before we take off

I absolutely love flying. Everything about it from turning up to the airport through to getting somewhere new.

Often said that in the event of a lottery win the first thing I'd do is buy a couple of flights and spend the first 24 hours just in a plane flying whilst I decided what I was going to do with the money!
