If free ddp isn’t offered...

So, myself like many others am waiting to see if free ddp is offered for 2020. I’m currently collecting quotes for our dates ( 2 weeks in August) to see how much it would cost approx, assuming it is offered. Have also priced up how much it would be to add the ddp by paying for it (($$$$$!)so the question is- what are dibbers planning to do in event if the ddp not being offered for 2020? Stay offsite? Stay on-site but pay oop for food? Not bother?

Interested to hear everyone’s contingency plans!

Possibly stay in one of the Disney Springs area hotels that offer 60 day FP. If I’m going to have to pay for parking anyway it may as well be at the parks.

I’m considering upgrading to annual passes in August and renting dvc points for next year. Will probably also get TiW to discount our food.

My rough calculations show that this would be £1000 cheaper for us anyway if prices for next year stay as is if free ddp is released.

Current dilemma is I can’t find definitive price to upgrade tickets and I don’t know how easy it’ll be to get a 14 night dvc booking at a deluxe resort at the beginning of August.

Renting DVC is something we’ve considered too but I think prices per point will go up so it may not be that cost effective.

Do prices get changed at a certain time of year?

I’d be able to book in September for next August, when would I know if prices were going to go up?

You won’t. The people renting set the price so you’d need to wait and see if what you want is offered at the right price.

I'll see what they offer as an alternative, as there will be an offer of some sort. I'll then evaluate it from there.

This is what we are thinking. There will surely be some sort of offer that might offset the costs a bit if we actually end up paying OOP for the DDP.

We rent through David’s we have set prices.

I wonder how far in advance they would notify of a change.

for us it will depend what the other "offer" would be - at the moment we are hoping for POR 2 rooms for 6 of us ( 3 for 10 including my sisters booking) with free dining. If there is no offer then we would drop to 2 rooms at All Star Music and just pay for food as we go along.
