Visitor Toll Pass extended to end of August

I have been keeping an eye on the visitor toll pass and just noticed it has been extended to end of August which covers our dates. Was previously end of July. Really chuffed as I have a full size pick up booked through Thrifty/Dollar who charge $52.99 per week for toll pass through them. I was going to pay cash.

Good spot that - I was only on there site yesterday.

We're flying into Miami before heading up this time, so hopefully it'll become a regular thing across main Florida airports the next time we travel

Is it worth doing if we only have a car for a couple of days? We’ll be driving to Port Canaveral and back and will hit toll roads.

Does anybody have a link with details?

Thanks Tom.

I’d didn’t realise it was only for rentals from MCO so no good for me but it looks good and I hope the pilot is successful and rolled out soon.

We’ve always been happy with the Alamo toll terms but I know they’re one of the most reasonable and some companies charges are outrageous so to see that changed will be good.

It's $19.75 max or $3.95 per usage day until the max amount of $19.75 is reached.

Note the words usage day. Some charge per rental day which for those traveling past midnight isn't good.

Check out Dollar and Thrifty on here if you want a shock!

Interested in trying this now that it has been extended through August. But just a bit concerned about security. It says that the toll pass ticket has to be displayed at all times - would this not make your car more of a target in car parks etc?

I don't think so. Lets be honest all rental cars are easily spotted due to the barcodes.

You could pop it in the glove box but then you risk forgetting it and the rental company bills you for tolls.

My view is I keep nothing on display and lock the car. That's my responsibility taken care of. If it gets screwed I did my best.

If I did this scheme I would leave the hangar on the mirror.

Plus the hangar is linked to the car you have. To pinch it and put it on another car that person has to ring up or go online to make the change but they can't know your account security details.
