We flew into Miami last year but stayed over night as didn't fancy a 4 hour drive. We got up at 5am, left hotel by 6am, stopped at 8am for breakfast and was in Villa by 11 (lucky they allowed us in early ) Then went to Walmart for a few hours and chilled by the pool, we were ready for the theme parks next day.
I wouldn't fancy driving 4 hours getting of a plane, but thats because we stay overnight at Heathrow and I hardly sleep (excitement) can't sleep on plane so would be totally exhausted to drive 4 hours after flight |

We go the other direction. Fly into MCO on the VS75 then we have to get to our Villa in Rotonda West. We used to drive, but getting stuck in evening traffic meant we were not getting there until around 10.00pm and driving tired.
We found the perfect solution, we now go a day early and stay over at the Crowne Plaza Universal, and we still get 14 nights in the Villa... |

Just wanted to add, IIRC FLL requires a bus to the rental pick up building. Have flown there in a few years but it can add time to your trip becuase of the need to get the shuttle bus and the bus dropping off a bus full of people.

Yeah we knew about the bus and have even looked into walking it without cases then coming back for everyone but it looks hard and like you say its going to add extra time on.
Thanks everyone for replies. I know all the roads very well and wouldn't be worried about driving it but we have decided to book a hotel for the night. That way if anything delays us then it is no big issue. Otherwise we'd be clock watching and slowly getting stressed out. Cheers all |
