Maybe the phone manufacturers could make the screen go black if it detects you are are moving at 1 mph or more. This way people would have to walk really slow or stand still to use the phone, but could still take calls.

No excuses for not paying attention and walking into people however...

DISNEY (No idea about UNIVERSAL, sorry) has kind of caused this problem. When on holiday I ideally don't like to have my phone on, or just turn it on in the evening in case family at home need me urgently. This is not an option in Disney as everything is arranged on it.

Meal times are a big phone free house in our household, however in WDW I was having to change plans in restaurants due to poor signals.

Again, no ex use for rudeness xx

Definitely, sign me up 😂. When DH sees someone walking towards him with their head in a phone he now stops dead and waits for them to move. It was getting like a slalom trying to walk anywhere.

I don’t mind people having their phones, as long as they’re not holding them a loft during shows! (Of any nature) I think off to the side of any show or gig (like music) there should be a special area for anyone who wants to use phones to do more then 1/2 pictures once the show starts (or headline act is on) after that anyone found on their phone should be escorted to that area!

I am 100% with the original poster. We have been back for a week and i was really struck this year by the use/obsession with phones. Accept it is happening everywhere but surely the parks etc are something you have been looking forward to so why not concentrate on them! We had one meal at Art Smiths (went twice on the trip - i think it is fab) and one family of 4 spent the whole of the time we were there on their phones, the 2 sons with headphones on as well and we never actually saw the face of one of them, so engrossed was he. (a) How sad and (b) what is the point of being there!
