Portsmouth

We are travelling to London for an overnight visit from Portsmouth at the end of September catching the train from Portsmouth and Southsea train station.(When going to London from home we drive most of the way down and catch a train/tube in from the outskirts of London but that’s not possible on this occasion.)

Where would be the best and safest place to park the car overnight in Portsmouth?

All words of wisdom gratefully received thanks!

Most of Portsmouth is restricted parking especially between the hours 4.30pm -7pm Permit holders only, most of the roads round the station have parking meters don't think you can do overnight , there is a Multi-storey car park near the station called Isambard Brunel 468 spaces over 5 hours parking £12.40. The Station is right in the Town centre .

Personally I would park at Havant or (even Petersfield) where there are large BR car parks and catch the train from there
If you want to park in the street for free then there is little around P&S Much better chance just south of Fratton

sorry for the I wouldnt start from here reply

Thank you - sorry if I didn’t make myself clear, I didn’t mean on street parking. Thanks for the info

No need to apologise 😊 the tickets have already been booked for us so we can’t change the station. Thanks for the reply.
