Don’t do what our vendors have just done to us and say they are leaving all the blinds in the forms but then take them !

We would have wanted to change them but it was such an inconvenience moving in thinking you wouldn’t need to do the whole taped blankets / cardboard on windows and then having to

Have you told your solicitor? It isn’t optional to take things that have been listed on the missives.

As above they cant take items that were supposed to be left behind.

OP, are you taking the blinds because they will fit the new house? Or to sell?

I left curtains as they wouldn't have been useful in my new house. I never understand why people take lightbulbs either

No, we decided that life really was too short and bought some £3 temporary blinds from IKEA. Moaning wouldn’t have achieved much as it was the inconvenience those first few days rather than anything else. Just annoying!

they would fit our new place, but it just seemed strange to ask even though they are listed as not included

I think it’s quite common to leave them. We’ve had blinds left in the last two houses. They will never be the exact size for your new windows.

I’d say you will leave them but ask for ££

We left all our blinds and didn't ask extra for them. They wouldn't have fitted in new house and were made to measure for last house. Would have been more trouble taking them down and also felt they had been a selling feature so unfair to leave them with with nothing!
Plus we really liked the couple that bought the house so that helped! We were lucky that all blinds were left here so weren't moving to nothing!

All our blinds are made to measure - we'll be leaving them but taking bedroom curtains as they match our bedding.

Last time I was involved in house selling ( in Scotland so may be different) we were advised by our solicitor that any items screwed to walls were treated as fixtures. I assumed that included blinds, curtain rails, but not the curtains etc. He also said you could take the lamp shades, but not the bulbs.

I have only moved house once , and that into a new build , and nearly 20 years ago .
I would be surprised if I moved into a pre-owned house and there were any blinds there unless specifically on the ‘ included’ list.
In the OP position I would certainly be taking them with you if they fit your new house , or asking for some £ otherwise
