Will a British PS2 work on an american t.v?

Sorry this may be a silly question. Was thinking of packing my son's games console but obviously don't want to bother if it won't work.
Many Thanks for any replies.

Did you mean PS3 or PS4?
You're asking about a console that's nearly 20 years old?

You will need to buy an American plug for it - a travel adaptor won't work.
They're super cheap on eBay

Is it HDMI or RGB cables at the back. If HDMI, all TVs have these now. If RGB then you'll struggle I reckon.

Don't do it lol we had the best time ever in Florida with my son who is normally attached to the PlayStation, halfway thru the holiday we bought him a new iPad. Big mistake! He didn't want to leave the villa after that. The best thing about our holiday was our son not being in his room on his PlayStation because we got to spend time together and have fun. Obviously it's up to yourself and I am sure it should work ok.

I was wondering why you wanted to take it with you. Just out of curiosity.

As long as you connect via HDMI, the only other issue is frame rate but you wouldn't know that until you actually saw the TV

Thanks so much. Really appreciate your reply. It's really old and I thought it wouldn't matter if it broke in transit. It's HDMI. Just noticed your short countdown... have a lovely time.!

We don't know where you are staying, but if it's in a villa many (if not all) will have some form of gaming technology (PlayStation/Xbox) and a selection of games.

Oh I see. We are taking my 10 year old nephew who is severely autistic. We are not sure how he will cope with it all as he has a lot of sensory issues, but he will often calm down watching a nemo game. I don't know why but that's autism for you!
