Off to Jamaica today

Well everything has worked out well for our trip to Jamaica! We only booked a couple of weeks ago and after all the stress we are currently at the premier inn for our flight later today, everyone has tested negative and we all have our fit to fly certifications. I was leaving booking our insurance until we had all tested negative(due to it being very expensive) as until 4.30pm yesterday the FDO had advised against travel to Jamaica (we can cancel right up until check in closes without losing our money and claim a voucher, and staying at Riu ocho Rios who offer pay on arrival with free cancellation) so nothing to lose apart from testing costs! On the train to Gatwick yesterday and had Notification to say the advice had changed which meant we could use our annual policy to cover us(me and my family all had covid in august so very little risk) Also while on the train we had an email from British airways to say we could upgrade to Club world for £255 each, we all jumped at the chance so booked this while on the train😍😍 Very excited now and looking forward to having a great couple of weeks in Jamaica. For those who have been, what’s best to do? We will booked Dunn’s river falls, and usually like to do a catamaran cruise while in Caribbean. Any tips would be great xx

Have the best time EVER This resonates with me so much as we flew out on the 27th August the day after it was confirmed it wasn't going red in August and the day before the FCDO advice changed to essential travel only, deeming the insurance hours before invalid. But we got there by the skin of our teeth!

I had never been before, but Goldia's trip report helped get my bearings We only went for a week, but had a wonderful time and I WILL be returning. ENJOY

I love it when a plan comes together! But yes, the stress of getting all that booked, and organising tests etc must have been stressful. You'll enjoy your holiday all the more! Have a great time.

Have a fantastic time
We’re in Gran Canaria at the moment and I was very unsure about it but now I’m so glad we booked.
We really needed a break.
