100% this. Honestly, never ask for anyone else’s opinion of baby names.
The only things you should ever consider when choosing a name/middle name is the way it is shortened or what the acronym would be.
I work with someone called Charlie Chaplin. My name is Bond, I have heard all the jokes every year for at least 40 years…. 😂

We are due number 3 in December, our son is Arlo and daughter Arabella, my wife wants to continue the theme of Anglo Italian names (father in law Italian) beginning with A.

We think we have decided on a name, a probably common Italian name and expect people to be mixed on it but it’s not for them to decide

The main priority is whether the child likes the name. They will potentially have to use it for 90 years ! I chose very traditional older names. I liked names they’d grow in to rather than names that were cute when they were babies.

My name, although not unusual is always spelt incorrectly. It really wound me up as a child ! It is also a name that shouts out middle aged woman as it wasn’t in fashion for long. I wanted to avoid anything fashionable for my children.
My daughter is Eleanor and I am baffled that no one seems to be able to spell it !
Some of the unusual names I hear locally, especially the deliberately misspelt ones just sound a bit chavvy I’m afraid.

Near my office I often used to see a van for someone called George Benson. He must have been moonlighting…
