Disney and Universal combo ticket question

I know a 14 day Disney ticket normally expires 14 days after the first use, but what happens with the Universal ticket if it's not used for a few days into the holiday. Will it expire 14 days after the Disney ticket was first used , or 14 days from when we enter a Universal park?
Could we make the tickets last three weeks if we don't visit Universal until the second week?

The two tickets are separate. Universal is for 14 days duration, day one being the first day you go into a universal park.

As above, they are separate tickets so activate individually. It's a combo in name only as a way for third party sellers to offer a discount if you buy both.

As above. There's no such thing as a single ticket that covers both Disney and Universal. Instead it's two separate tickets, one for each company, sold at a single combined price. The two tickets can be used at completely different times - you could go to Disney one month and then Universal a month later.

So the Universal ticket will expire 14 days from the first day you use it to enter your first Universal park (its valid for 14 days including the first day).
