We want to go to Greece next year, any ideas?

We want to go to Greece again, we loved Kefalonia and I’ve been to Corfu a few times and Cyprus a few times. We were looking at Crete but I can’t decide where to stay, any ideas of a resort on a Greek island with a lovely Sandy beach, tavernas and shops. Someone my grown up kids won’t get bored but not to rowdy, I’m thinking of going back to Kefalonia but like trying other places. Any ideas?

We went to Zante last September… stayed in Tslivi at Contessina Suites which is an ‘adults only’ hotel booked via BA holidays - they have another hotel in the same resort which we had a couple of evenings at which we enjoyed. Sandy beach is a little bit of a walk but we preferred either the pool or to drive a bit to find different beaches. I’d say there is enough going on to amuse grown up kids but also enough lovely tavernas to amuse grown ups!. We rented a car at the airport so took ourselves around the island - would definitely go back and take adult children if they wanted to come.

We have just came back from Rhodes and were suprised how much we liked it.
Hubby cant stand staying still and grew bored of spain awhile ago but loved Rhodes,
We went with another couple our 8 year old and our daughter 19 and her partner 22.
We all loved it - Sea was amazing- We did some amazing trips (Sea Caves/Sunset/snorkelling on our own private boat tour 100 Euros total!for 7)
Took our own boat out on the sea for 4 hours around all the coves - (150 Euros)
Water park
Water Activities /Jetski /Tubing /Parasailing (our 8 year old is Autistic and loved it all as did all the adults)
There were some Bars ect, for young adults and some amazing resturants
(we found an amazing one , near Falaraki with a DJ- but at a pleasent level(ops sounding OLD now) Nice water fall in the background and amazing food at a good price.

The other couple are ones who normally come to Orlando with us and compared it to a more upmarket Millers .
And the weather was fantastic!

Can I ask which resort you stayed at please? We are considering Rhodes for October half term.

Do you have kids?

We booked a last min , Great deal for the TUI waterpark resort.
We were supposed to go to Mexico then it went Red then we were supposed to go to Jamacia and that imposed restrictions so we changed only 3 days before we left.
We paid £1450 for 12 night for 2 adults and 1 child.
Lovely resort and the waterpark in the hotel was one of the best we have been too,
But might be a bit noisy if no Kids or you like to only relax (although it does have a range of pools)
Barman was dangerous with his drinks though

There was another one further down that was our second choice and a bit more tranquil so if no kids ill find the name of that but if your taking kids they will love the water park TUI one.

If you cross the road from there down to the beach theres a guy called Mick the Greek(haha) talks a lot but is amazing and a great host for boat tours.
He knows a lot of history too (if that intrests you)- will take you to the coves when its empty just before Sunset and swim into the Caves with you (showing you all the crabs ect on the walls )

Peters watersports in the middle of the beach will do you some amazing deals on watersports!- We got jet skis for 4 for 30 mins /some UFO thing for 7 tubing for 4 /sofas for 5 /and parasailing for 4 (they also let us follow on the speed boats for free) for under 300 Euro and included pedalos x2 for 2 hours for free (to use when ever we wanted, they also provided us with sun loungers on the beach /watermelon and water free too.

Hi Sandra! We are in Kos, just outside the old town, its a fabulous place there are cycle lanes everywhere and bike hire was really cheap, so many lovely local restaurants to eat at too, we didn’t get time. I posted few pics on the ‘Anyone planning Greece thread’ There are a few hotels here that look amazing, Aqua Blu we are in, nearby, Blue Lagoon, Pelagos suites, Aegean Houses, White Pearls of Kos, all look fab.
The old town is beautiful, lots of boats, shops, etc. Beaches here are stunning, especially Tigaki, Marmari, Kefalos, Paradise beach.

We also love Rhodes as others have mentioned.
