The pucks contain the RFID chip linked to your MDE account. The idea is that you transfer this into a different holder, not swap the puck for a new one. You can transfer the puck into a "MagicKeeper":

This can be used either as a keyring or attached to the end of a lanyard - useful if you don't like wearing the MagicBand around your wrist.

And if you have an Apple Watch, how about storing the puck in the wrist strap:

There are a number of online sellers doing a variety of holders for the puck (Disney calls them "icons" but I still think puck is a better name).

I would also recommend that you deactivate any tickets you are not currently using on a trip. We have over 30 between us and they are all currently deactivated and we will only activate the ones we will be taking on our next trip.

Op book a campsite space on your first day , get your magic bands and 2 days Parking plus magic bands plus 60 days fastpass as you are offsite x don’t know how many are in your party but can be a real saving if 4 plus .
I can't find any availability for the campground. Where do people normally book?

Make sure you are using Disney's US website, not the UK one. Admittedly, this can be a bit difficult since Disney updated their website a couple of weeks ago.

So if we booked a night at the campsite, we could get free magic bands for 8 of us, plus 2 days free parking and earlier fastpass booking? Would we be able to check in very early on that day to pick up fastpasses? Do they look at you strangely when you do it?!

Yes loads of people have done this on here , there was a massive thread not long back. Yes you can pick up magicbands early but don’t stop on the campsite.

When Disney brought out magicband 2 they did say you could change the puck so you can have diffferent colour combos etc, so why not just sell a puck , oh I forgot because they can make more money from bands than pucks . Silly me eh.

I get it that you mean Magic Band, not fastpasses

but, yes, you can show up quite early (from 6am), pick up magic bands, and be ready to head for a park where you'll get free parking since you've checked in.

Do they look at you strangely when you do it?!
why would they look at you strangely. You're a guest, you have a reservation, you check in. So what ?

and even if the odd CM would look at you strangely, why would you care ? You're never going to see them again

Thank you both, yes I did mean magic bands not fastpasses.

I was just thinking they might think it odd for British people to have brought a tent with them, but I guess they are unlikely to ask!

4 of us have magic bands but from 2015 so probably won't work on rides for photos/videos, the others don't, and with parking too it would be well worth it for us
