Onsite Disney (no car), Universal and Discovery Cove... possible?
Staying onsite for 3 weeks. Wanting to visit Universal (2 days) and Discovery Cove. Can we do this sensibly without a car?
Should we stay at Universal, or get bus/taxi? Or hire a car for a few days? Never been to Florida before so I don't know how good the transport is, expecting all will be catered for, but you never know. How about popping into the malls etc? Didn't want a car, but if it's the only sensible way... Advice please. |

Hi
We managed Seaworld without a car, the bus is quite easy and doesn't take long, and then you get the shuttle to discovery cove from SeaWorld We will be doing this next year, to both mentioned above and Aquatica. We are also doing universal but we are staying there for 4 nights and then getting a taxi over to disney for the rest of our stay Hope this helps a little bit.

We did onsite last year with no car , took a taxi to US , stayed one night in RPR to get 2 days FOTL passes, and took a taxi to Seaworld. If that is the only trips you want to do, then it is not to expensive.

We've been twice, staged onsite without a car and did them all without any problem. We didn't want a car so just budgeted for taxis and it wasn't a problem at all. If you don't want a car, then just budget and use taxis. I wouldn't use the bus for discovery cove as you'll want to get there nice and early to make he most of it. We budgeted $40 each way for all parks (including tip) and that was fine. Yes, we could have got a car for the money, but simply didn't want one, plus we'd have got a taxi back from discovery cove anyway after a few drinks

We are getting a taxi there and probably the bus back depending on how we feel Because you need to get there earlier like loves2plan says then this may be the best option

Easily done without a car...
Not ever really been to the malls as no interest... So can't comment, but unlikely to be able to just pop in to these.

that was our plan initially, but we were so chilled out and relaxed at the end of the day that none of us wanted to bother with the bus so ended up getting a taxi back too
We do tend to catch it back from SeaWorld though and spend some time at DTD before heading back to our hotel.

We got taxis to both Universal and Seaworld when we went this year from Disney. Seaworld was approx $40 and Universal $50 there and back - but can't remember exactly how much! Easily done though, booked taxis through our resort reception and went from the main foyer.

I didn't want to spend the money on a taxi, so we waited for the bus and my sister was less than impressed :P We headed straight to the hotel after we got to DTD haha.
