Huxwolds (et Lola) En Tournee - DLP Feb 24

We are just back (last night) from our first ever Huxwolds visit to Disneyland Paris, and I have a bonus day off work today, so I thought I’d make a start on the trippie index.

The Cast…

We are the Huxwolds - Emma (Ems), Rich and Tom, and we’ve had a few adventures that we’ve shared here on the Dibb. We love Orlando, Disney, Universal and all things Theme Parks (both US and Europe).

As you may have noticed from the title, we have a new addition to our cast - Lola is Tom’s lovely girlfriend. She’s new to the world of themepark holidays, so we were very excited to introduce her to a bit of Disney magic…

The Plan…

We’ve always been a bit reluctant to do a DLP visit. We’ve priced it up a few times over the years, but have always found it expensive for a short trip, and have ended up going to Florida instead.

However, after we had such an amazing time in California last year, rediscovering the Disney magic at Disneyland, Rich was keen to see what DLP had to offer, and I wasn’t going to say no to that.

We decided on the dates and booked the hotel in September. We had to consider Tom and Lola’s annual leave entitlement, and wanted to keep it to 2 days off work for them, so decided on Thursday to Sunday, giving us 2 full days in the parks and a good few hours free for a quick visit to Paris on Sunday before our flight home. Rich and I both booked Monday (today) off work too, and I had some entitlement to use up so ended up taking last Wednesday off too.

Rich found a good rate for Hotel Cheyenne on Booking.com (€910 / £776, for 2 rooms / 3 nights)…

We agreed to cover the room, and Tom and Lola paid for their own flights and park tickets.

He also priced up flights from Birmingham to Charles Du Gaul, which we booked just after Christmas (£565 total, inc a 23kg case per couple), and we bought or 2-Day Park Tickets the weekend before our trip (£136 each).

After a bit of research, it looked like taking the train from GDG to DLP was the quickest and easiest option, and we also planned to use trains for our day in Paris, using one of the many luggage storage options so that we wouldn’t have to lug our cases around all day.

Having discovered Tom’s love of Ratatouille whilst we were in California, a visit to Bistro Chez Remy was a must-do, so I made a reservation for 3pm on the Saturday…

In terms of planning, that was about it. Rich and I watched quite a few Vlogs (we highly recommend Sam4G0d) to get a feel for the Parks and Disney Village, and I may have pre-selected the Loungefly and Minnie Ears I wanted to get based on one of Sam’s Vlogs before we left 😀
