eSIM

I’m going for 10 days, shall I buy a 2gb eSIM for £6.50 or would I be better to get the 3gb for £9? I understand wif in the parks is pretty good I just want a bit of security that I have everything I need for Ubers, googling etc

I found this question frustrating on our recent trip and ended up giving up. We were there 28 days and I did look in Walmart while there and shocked they offered sims for $50
I only pay £12 here in the UK.
We did use offline maps but it added stress and I’d want an eSIM on the next trip for sure.

So wanted to ask if your reply’s used it for a sat nav too?

I use the phone for satnav and have Wi-Fi in the house. I never use 3gb in 30 days. And use it about when there is no Wi-Fi.

I’m sure you have checked but, just in case, is your phone eSIM compatible? Mine isn’t and it isn’t an old phone.

Yes, we used it for both Google Maps and Waze. Very easy to top up if it’s running low. But the 2GB was enough all around.

We used WIFI in the parks but there are some spotsin the park where WIFI is not so reliable. Also used Whatsapp data calls to stay in touch with everyone in our group

I just looked back at my Airalo receipts from this August and I bought a 5gb package first and then had to top up with another 3gb which nearly ran out too! Mind you this was 3.5 weeks and I had my work with me and made VOIP calls a few times. So it really depends what you’re going to do. Also, £2.50 additional is not really a lot even if it is for peace of mind.
