Backbone controller

How exactly do these things work?
My son (18) has an x box, so could he sign into his account via the backbone and play his games on his phone when away from home?
Do you need the subscription?
Will the newest model fit the IPhone 16 pro max?
Anything else I need to know?

I have the playstation backbone & it has USB C connection which is what you'd need for the newer iPhones. Not sure how wide it is though!

He would need the Xbox app on his phone & assume the backbone app as well.
You can use it to stream games from your console but also, if you take out xbox gamepass, you can stream games directly from xbox.
Not sure if xbox can stream stream games on your console over the Internet though. I know I can on my ps4 & ps5, just need a decent Internet connection & it's also best to have your console wired instead of wireless to your WiFi.

I can also play a lot of games I already have on my phone with it.

Having said that I've hardly used it. I find it easier to use my ps vita to remote play my ps4 & I'm thinking of getting the playstation portal for PS5 remote play... Although I can do both on my steam deck as well!

I'd only bother if it's a decent deal. I got mine for £50 & I'll get at least that back trading it in.

We have one and my son uses it to play on his Xbox while we’re away regularly.

I’m not sure if we have to have anything extra for it, will ask and report back!

Gosh thats a fantastic price 🤩, the new one I am looking at is £99 this one says it’s compatible with I phone 15 & 16 but doesn’t specify if that includes the 16 pro max 😬 and I don’t know how to find out, the ‘contact us’ online is an automated bot sending me round in circles without actually answering if it’s suitable for the pro max 😣😣😣

My son spends a few nights in whales each month for university so he would use it then and possibly while we are on holiday 🤩

Well it should fit. Tried stretching mine & it's almost 18cm whereas the pro max is 16.3cm.
You can get whichever has USB C. Even the one that says playstation as the only difference is it has the playstation buttons rather than a, but, x & y.
Just keep checking hotukdeals. Someone might do it for black Friday. Currently you can get the older iPhone version from ee for £66.

DS got one last year and likes it. You have to be careful about which one is compatible with which iPhone though. I remember having the discussion with someone on here last year about them and thought it was you….. must have been someone else.🙈😂

It probably was me 🤣 I was going to get him one last Christmas but I knew he was getting a new phone this year so I thought I would wait 🤣
There isn’t much information online that I can find about them 😬 but if he is away from home for university I know he will use it 🤩🤩
