What a lovely last morning. Pool time looks perfect and what a fab wrap too! The strawberry daiquiri looks lush, especially with the beautiful blue sky in the background. 🤩 I hope you had the best time at the Boathouse and that your flight was good. 🩷 xx

Enjoy DS, The Boathouse and hope you have a great flight and arrive home to some blue skies
I know, right?! It’s been different doing 11 nights when we’re used to 14, but I think as we chilled so much the last few days it didn’t feel too short as we weren’t rushing around! 😁

We did land to blue skies and 13 degrees today, so I was quite happy with that!

I highly, highly recommend that wrap! And the one we had the other day too. They’re sooo good, especially for around the pool!

We left the pool around 4.30pm, it was so nice basically having a full day to chill. 😍 Although the weather was so incredible yesterday we really didn’t want to leave our loungers!

We walked back over to the Signia and quickly got ready to go out to Springs for a few hours. The shuttle times didn’t really work for us, so I ordered an Uber for $6.74.

The sun was setting at Disney Springs and it looked so pretty everywhere.

We headed straight for The Boathouse, which to our surprise had a queue literally out of the door! 😅 Luckily we’d booked and we were seated at a lovely table outside pretty quickly. I’m sure they’ve expanded their outdoor seating since we last came here as I don’t remember it being so big. It felt a bit like how I’d imagine restaurants in the Florida Keys are! We had a lovely sunset view.

Of course I had to order a Duck Duck Razz as my final cocktail. This is Stoli Razberri, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup. I was warned that it was very sweet but I already knew that as it’s my go-to cocktail at The Boathouse.

Loved it as usual! It was actually pretty strong but delightfully sweet and just an overall lovely cocktail. 🤩 Of course the little duck is the cherry on top!

We were excited for the complimentary honey butter bread rolls as we remembered them being good but wow, they were even better than we remembered! 😍

They were soooooo good! I could’ve eaten them all day! The whipped butter was also perfect, and we had a lovely young man clearing our table who we got chatting to and offered to bring us some more rolls to try with their cinnamon butter too. Of course we had to say yes! 😋

These were just as good (I must not have used flash on the photo but they were the exact same honey covered rolls)! I still preferred them with the normal whipped butter as I’m not too much of a cinnamon person, but Will enjoyed both. We were also offered another batch to take with us for the plane but we had to decline before we turned into bread rolls. 🤣

To start, I had the Firecracker Shrimp which come with Sriracha Mayo, Tricolor Sweet Peppers and Sesame Seeds. I’ve had these before and they were what I was craving when we’d tried to go to The Dockside bar the evening before!

The portion size of these was huge - much bigger than I remembered and we probably should’ve shared (especially after all that bread)! 🤣 They were really tasty and the peppers were a great addition too. I do seem to remember them being more coated/battered than they were, but this isn’t a complaint, probably just my memory serving me incorrectly! Nevertheless they were very good, really flavourful and I would have them again.

Will went for the Wedge Salad which was Iceberg, Grape Tomatoes, Red Onions, Blue Cheese Dressing and Chopped Bacon.

He really enjoyed this. It was well balanced and packed with fresh flavours. Will loves blue cheese so this was always going to be a winner, and he particularly enjoyed the chopped bacon which was perfectly salty.

For my main, after much deliberation between this and the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, I chose the Maine Style Lobster Roll which is Chilled Maine Lobster and Lemon-Chive Dressing on a Buttered Toasted Split Top Bun. It is served with Kettle Chips but you can upgrade to the Truffle Fries for $4 which I did as I know I enjoy the fries here. I must have been in a lobster mood after our delicious wrap at lunch!

This was amazing! I’ve had it before, but again it was better than I remembered. It was actually really light (which was needed after the bread and starter), with huge lobster chunks and a delicious dressing. The quality of the lobster was fab.

The fries were perfectly thin and crispy with a delicious truffle topping - they’re the sort of fries where you can’t stop eating them even if you’re full as they’re so light!

Will fancied a typical USA dish for his final meal, and so opted for the Classic Cheese Burger (The Boathouse Custom Grind, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion) which is served with Fresh Cut Fries.

He enjoyed this - it was of course not as good as the incredible burger at the Briarpatch, but for a standard high end restaurant-style cheeseburger it was a good offering and came cooked medium as requested. The fries were the same delicious ones that came with my meal, just without the truffle topping.

This was a brilliant final meal with great views, great company and great food. 😍🤩 The bill was $130.55 including tip.

We happened to be leaving The Boathouse during Gideon’s Hot Cookie Hour when I believe they offer warm cookies with ice cream, but the queue was very long so we skipped that in favour of our favourite Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons from Salt & Straw. 💗 We got a double scoop as it was our last snack of the trip, which was $10.92 - not much more than a single scoop, so I think we should’ve just been getting doubles all trip. 😂

Of course, this was delicious and we enjoyed it sitting on a wall overlooking the lake and Saratoga Springs. 💙 A perfect end to another wonderful trip.

We grabbed a Lyft back to the Signia for $6.38, got changed and grabbed our bags, and somehow struck lucky on Uber with a $21.16 ride to the airport, with a driver who was already at the Signia, so no wait either! 😁

Will thinks I’m crazy as I always shed a little tear at the end of our Orlando trips, especially if we’re leaving the Disney bubble... I love the fact you can let go of all your worries and just have fun. ♥️

Day 12 total: $228.75
Overall total: $1862.25

So, we went over budget by $62.25, but I’m still going to consider that a success! 😁 Especially as I included all Ubers/Lyfts and the Scenic Boat Tour within that.

I’ll finish up the report later this week with our best bits! 🤩

A fab sunset to go with your last meal! And what a banger. The yummy firecracker shrimp and of course the duck, duck! A brilliant and you did so well to come so close to your budget especially as it included the transport and activities and wasn't just the food and drink.

I've so enjoyed reading along. Hopefully we won't have too long to wait for your next trip!

I’m loving the lobster theme Amber! A fab cocktail with a gorgeous view and your whole meal looked amazing. 😍 What a perfect last day, you really did go out on a high and how awesome you managed one last Salt and Straw. I’m so pleased that you were so close to your budget, you had so many wonderful meals and treats, so you definitely showed it certainly is possible to enjoy yourself and not spend a million dollars! I hope you are acclimating well after all that lovely warm weather. 💕 xx

Fabulous last evening at Disney Springs. That tuna at the Boathouse is hard to beat but your lobster roll looked really nice.

Totally agree with your sum up of Orlando holidays , “letting go of all your worries and having fun”❤️

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful trip Amber. The beginning and end of a Florida trip both include tears for me - it really is so magical to be there and as you say somewhere where you let your worries go... Unfortunately I had a disappointing meal at The Boathouse a few years ago so haven't returned but you and a few others have definitely made me think I need to put it back on my list! Thank you for testing out so many sweet treats and amazing that you came in under budget too - helps justify many future trips
