VA upgrade bid - what next?

I’ve seen a few threads on this before but I can’t find them.

We fly from MCO to LHR on Saturday and I put in the lowest bid from Economy to UC, as thought it may help with the night flight home. I can’t see any emails or anything on my booking but money came out today so I assume I won?

I’ve never bid before or ever flown UC so what happens next? Any tips or anything I should know about please?

Congratulations !

If the amount has been deducted rather than "held" then you are in Upper !

Go into MMB (manage my booking) and select your UC seat(s) now

The email will follow maybe later today or tomorrow

Perhaps I was celebrating too early as I can’t pick anything on my booking.

I got alerted that the money was deducted but just logged on my credit card and it’s in Pending.

Have you checked MMB ? If accepted it will show you in the upper class cabin - that is the sure way to find out

Good luck, I’m guessing if it’s pending then it should mean that it’s been accepted

I’ve just upgraded with reward vouchers one way from economy to premium …was told it would take up to 14 days to take payment and issue e-tkt, not sure why? ( hope it’s quicker that that as hate the uncertainty- mind you my premium seats are selected).

You upgraded direct with VS so once you have spoken to the clerk they then pass the booking to the ticketing department who take the money and issue the eTkt

The op Bid for an Upgrade. This is handled via 3rd party in Canada that VS use to manage the online bidding - they ensure the money is cleared before issuing an upgraded seat. They can put hold on more seats than they need as sometimes the payment is declined - if that happens they move on to next bid etc etc so Op will (may) see an odd name appear on CC statement relating to this bid - nothing to worry about. If successful it immediately shows in the booking as it is cleared (well that is sort of how it was claimed to us)

The confirmation email was received this morning and it’s now changed to UC on my booking. Seats selected and very excited for the journey back tomorrow now!
