I also LOATHE the way the new receptionist talks, she spends so much time trying to fake the Birmingham accent that her acting suffers, in my opinion. And like others, I'm still not over Karen - I could handle Valerie going, but too many of the more established characters seem to be leaving in a short space of time. Sorry didn't mean to moan!
Unfortunately I think the writing might be on the wall. I'm getting to the same stage as I was with Neighbours about 14 years ago. I stopped watching when Harold was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. It was too close to home as Dad was going through the same.

I could just about believe that drs was about the surgery rather than the patients which allowed me to cope with them not appearing busy and people getting appts easily but it has gone beyond that now

I've watched it for years also. Couldn't believe they killed Karen off! She was nearly off'd years ago when she banged her head! I do roll my eyes often though when there are reception shots, the one yesterday or the day before, the old biddy playing some sort of game on the computer. I work in a GP practice and trust me I don't know any surgery where you would be able to do this as the phone never stops ringing! GP's also sitting having a cuppa or their lunch on the show, another rare occasion in the two practices I've worked in. Usually had sitting at their desks, if they have time.

What happened to Karen? I used to love doctors but thought it changed to being about the doctors personal lives more than the surgery seeing patients. Can Doctors survive with out Daniel Granger?

My DW is gutted. She turned to this after Neighbours originally ended on channel 5 and not missed an episode since. It was announced yesterday that the final episode will be on the 14th November.

And today is the final episode with a follow up programme afterwards. Quite poignant how Timothy West's last tv appearance was in Doctors, the same day it was announced he had died.

Over the last year since it was announced you can see how the story writers have built up to this end and have also brought the NHS issues to the fore. It may not have been the best tv series, stories, believability or some of the acting but it was a half hour that I had to sit with lunch when I was just home from work, or tea and a biscuit that was just relaxing. RIP Doctors you will be missed xx
