Universal Studios Great Britain

Rumours of Comcast building a Universal Studios theme park in the UK have jumped into overdrive following confirmation that they have already purchased land in Bedford.

Only an hour from me would be amazing! Also hope it would make Merlin up their game visited Alton towers back in April and found it really disappointing having not visited since the early 00's.

Hope I am wrong as i'd love to see a Universal Park in the UK.
Depends if the land has some endangered spiders on it ...

I'd be surprised if it didn't get planning permission, this sort of opportunity is extremely rare to invest in the local area

Hope it’s indoors. 😅
Unless they’re thinking of movie IP such as “Waterworld” and “Singing in the rain”. 😅

They’ve apparently confirmed on sky news too.
Would be handy as I’m only about half an hour away.

Also a bit of a discussion regarding this (mainly by me ) over in the General Chat area:

https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1266541

Universal have confirmed that they've bought the land with the idea that they are thinking about building a theme park there. Although it is still very early days.

This does seem more likely to actually happen than the London Resort rumours. Those always seem like a bit of a scam to get investment from businesses with no real attempt by the Kuwaiti firm to make it happen.

The average rainfall in Bedford is slightly less than that in Paris where DLP is located.
