Any weather app (even BBC) is ok. Singapore is tiny (the size of greater London) so weather isn’t going to be a problem.
Like all tropical places, they get really hot with afternoon downpours. Bring an umbrella with you - for shade and for rain. Don’t wear a raincoat - the humidity just makes it feel gross with a raincoat on. If you are caught in the tain, just duck in somewherez it can be torrential. Have lots of fun. I grew up there and just been back for a visit in August |

I don't actually know what is the best weather app, I just use the default weather app on my iPhone. Which isn't all that accurate a lot of the time when it comes to rain. I think the National Environment Agency is supposed to have decent information about rain/maps but I don't use it myself.
Temperature doesn't change much so don't really need a weather app for this metric! Rain can be really unpredictable though, so definitely bring an umbrella along. Most of the time I have an umbrella with me, but if I'm out running in the park I tend to have a disposable poncho with me just in case. There was also this really odd weather phenomenon last week called a Sumatra squall (first time I'd heard this term) - skies turned dark really quickly and there was a crazy band of intense rain and wind (enough that some trees fell over) for about half an hour or so. I was walking home when the rain/wind started and the rain was basically horizontal at that point. Though this was unusual enough that it got reported in the news because it was just such a sudden intense storm that passed so quickly...

Possibly daft question - but is it the same temp / humidity all year round, or are some months less "tropical" than others?

Yes totally unpredictable rain... today was out for lunch with some work friends and we had a nice lunch, as we stepped out of the cafe it was drizzling a bit which turned into full on pouring rain within a couple of minutes... which didn't last too long thankfully (sometimes heavy rain can last for a while).
Thankfully I had an umbrella! I pretty much just assume that it's the same temperature/humidity all year round i.e. hot and humid. In the last few years there have been a few periods here and there where it's been cooler - by maybe 2-3 degrees Celsius! Though this does make a difference in feel for me as it means I can survive without turning on the air conditioning. Don't know how predictable this is though, it seems to usually be around November-February but we'll see what happens this year! As an example of how it really doesn't get cold here... a temperature of 22.3 degrees C made the news recently for being lower than expected (https://www.straitstimes.com/singapo...ather-says-mss)... the usual night time temperature is 25-26 degrees C...

Same temp range - I called it 325 days of relentless heat No big dips and usually quite tropical.
Once, my friends back in SG was remarking how cold it was at 24 deg, until I showed them London was -1 deg that night. Only thing to watch out for is the very cold cinemas and shopping malls. (Some as low as 18 deg) You’ll feel a shiver when you step into the AC after beigb roasted outside |

We have booked to go next year. Well we have booked a 12 night cruise (just me and Mrs YT) Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to Hong Kong. We’ll will have a couple of nights in Singapore first. Looking forward to it, intending to use my BA points and voucher for business class to Singapore and back from Hong Kong as both night flights.
Hope you have a good time.

Yes thanks noted they go quick. Hopefully with the voucher and the extra that gives I’ll be able to book it. I intended to book the Singapore one online when released, then ring up and have them book the HK return when released asking for my voucher to be applied to both would that work?
