Oo I will be following along with interest! We head for our first trip in April and I’m so excited!
We are trying for our VP next month, we are quite flexible on hotel choice so hopefully that should make things easier. Hope you have an amazing time! |

Following along with interest ahead of our trip in April. There’s so many things we want to see and do and I imagine seeing what you get upto is only going to add to the list! 😂😂

Please tell them to share their secret for getting Pokémon Cafe booked. We tried again today and no luck again, I don’t know how anybody manages it!

Getting a hotel for the VP package wasn’t too bad as you can book a VP much earlier than a stand alone hotel, I had Miracosta as first choice, but we would have taken any. The only one I never saw was Fantasy Springs Hotel, but otherwise it was more the volume of traffic, the instability of the site and the queues to get onto the site and back on after being kicked off that were an issue.
Thank you, I am currently reading Gunna’s reports for some more ideas too. |

They got tickets on their first trip which was pre-covid but it was still incredibly difficult. They said it opened 31 days before at 6am Japan time. They got them on the second day of trying, the website crashed a few times and they had to refresh it a couple of times but eventually got it, seems it is a case of keep trying and hope you’re lucky 🤞 I do hope you get a booking xx

Yes it is still 31 days, but it is 6pm Japan time, which is 10am for us. We have both been trying last two days, using the atomic clock, and I tried three days ago as well. Tomorrow we are going to use a Japanese VPN as well and see if that helps with the crashing and blocking.
If we miss out on our Tokyo days, we will start trying for the Osaka cafe in about a weeks time.

Keep checking the Pokemon Cafe web site, as people do cancel - also worth going up before it opens, on the day. They have a sign outside indicating were they have slots left that day

Yes we will keep checking. I had been wondering about walking up on the day as well so that is useful to know.

Pre travel day: Sofitel
The cats started their holiday yesterday and the dogs earlier today. This cat not looking too happy about the cattery in this shot, but I think she is ok really.
We arrived at the Sofitel at Heathrow a couple of hours ago and we decided to just chill in the room and watch TV tonight as we have an early start tomorrow for the 9:05am flight. We haven’t found the dining options particularly great at the Sofitel for the last few years, so we decided to order room service, another reason to stay in the room. I went for my hotel room service favourite of club sandwich and Nev decided on the chicken burger. The chicken burger is served with sweet potato fries and my sandwich only crisps, so we decided to order a side of French fries on the understanding that I get the sweet potato fries and Nev gets the side of French fries. The photos are how they were served before we swapped everything about. Well what a hit, Nev says it was the best room service he can remember and I also cannot find any fault whatsoever. We ordered a couple of extras, I got a smoothie for the morning and we also ordered a glass of milk which we will use in cups of tea for the rest of the night. But the sandwich, burger and the extra portion of fries came to £47.
