DD going next week, should they book seats?
Hi everyone, DD is going next week with Virgin Man-MCO and she doesn’t mind sitting on her own but her BF is worrying about seats together and thinks they should book them. He said the flight is really full. We are thinking to wait till online check in 24 hours before, but what do you all think? Don’t they normally leave some seats unallocated for people who haven’t paid at check in or do they not do that anymore? Any advice welcome 😊
P.s. she would rather spend the money on something there and he would rather seats together 😂

I’m with her I think I would take my chances and be ready to check in right on time.
I’d rather have extra spends. Also if they are seperate it may only be a couple of aisles. Happened to my son and DH before, they never asked to swap but a solo traveller realised they were together so offered to swap.

Have you asked Stanley how full the flight is? I can't help with Virgin flights i'm afraid.
If there are plenty of seats, my advise would be to look out for 2 empty seats together, listen out for the PA that says "cabin crew that's boarding complete", as soon as they hear that (don't hesitate), ask the crew if they can move into them.

We don’t pay but we are often split apart. Not miles apart but across the aisle. Or one behind the other.
I don’t mind that so it depends on how much it would bother him. I think last year we had 2 together and one in front and one over the aisle. |

If her BF is worried, just book them. It’s half term next week so I’d expect the flights to be really busy.

There is no right answer to this one, it is a personal preference. We wouldn’t pay to sit together as we don’t really care if e are sat apart, but we might pay for, say, direct aisle access.
I think if either of us specifically wanted to sit together, e.g. because of nerves flying, then we would pay. |

We got Married 40+ years ago. We live together and do things together. We also sit next to each other in the Car or Plane. That's us. Thus I would pay for the seats. I'm not saying others should that is up to them.

I will only book exit row. Other than for those, I will take my chances.
