some more thoughts from me - if there are points available for 2024 check UY banking deadlines and consider asking the seller to bank the points now just in case the process does take longer. Also, any 2023 banked points are a bonus but check deadline for when they have to be used as you might not complete/travel in time to use them...

A loaded Contract has Points available and maybe even Banked Points floating around. A stripped one is where there will be no Points available for 2025 as they used them up.
Whats the other board/well known website?

Thanks Tom, I am historically pants at making offers, I just don’t have the nerve because I don’t want someone to think bad of me. Pathetic I know 🤦 I am 51, I need to grow up 😬😬🤣

Re timeline, I have just added on to our SSR contract. We offered on around 24th September and closed last week so am very happy with those timescales. I'm now waiting for DVC to add on the points and checking constantly! I would definitely allow 2 - 3 months as will depend on closing company, seller etc as well... really good luck if you decide to go ahead with offer
Did you buy resale ? If so which company did you use?
I am looking at DVC for Less because it was recommended on here. 🤩🤩

It's all via email, don't worry about what the seller/broker thinks of you, it's irellevent.

Our recent buy -

Initially we went in for AKV 300 point stripped, it was up for $90, offered, accepted and passed ROFR at $85. Contract was then pulled as broker found the contract had outstanding finance.

Went in for another AKV, got counter offered then owner put the price up to higher than the original listing. I think they were trying to make some point to me!

Went in for another AKV, I think it was up for $98, offered $92 and was accepted and passed ROFR. It had 2024 points on it so it compared the 300 point stripped contract. It compared as £84 a point.

Be patient and good deals are out there. It looks like you are either looking at AKV or SSR (both great choices for bang for buck points)

For AKV there are a load of contracts around the $95 mark, for SSR $90

Look on dvcsearch.com for contracts from all the brokers

DVCForLess is great - I only discovered it this year! We have a direct purchase and have since added on (a few times - eek!) using Andy at DVC Resale Market, Yasmin at The Timeshare Store and most recently with Adam and Nate at DVC Resale Experts. This time I asked for Cammy at DVC Closings to be the Title Company as have used her in the past and she is great. I recommend any of those companies/brokers

FT the other site is basically the US/Worldwide equivalent of the Dibb, type in D... I... S They actually have a ROFR sticky/thread & you can see what contracts are passing at before making your offer

It means some or all of the future years points have been used.

Watch out for contracts where it says the points available for 2025 are less than the full contract amount.
