Help and Advice Please
Hi to you all,
We have just booked our trip with Walt Disney Travel Company for 10 nights at Port Orleans Riverside from 14th May 2025 and have a few questions please. 1, We are a family of 4 with 4 large cases. What would be the best way (not necessarily the cheapest way) to get from Orland Int to our resort please) 2, How does the Quick service dining plan work? 3, How do we get from Riverside to WDW and back every day? Im sure i will have more questions but would be grateful for any help with these first. Many thanks Darron |

Hi 👋 welcome to the DIBB.
To get to your resort you can use UBER or Lyft, you could book a private transfer, or there is a bus service you can use. If it was me and cost didn’t really matter that much I’d be booking a private transfer. Port Orleans is a great resort, I’m case you didn’t know there is space under the beds for storing cases so they will be out of your way during your stay. To get to each of the parks, there are 4 bus stops around the resort, just to go your nearest one and there will be a notice board telling you when the next bus for each park will be. So each of the parks has dedicated buses going there. Then at the park when you’re going back to your resort just go to the bus stop for your resort and jump on the bus again. For Disney springs you can also get a bus, or the Port Orleans resorts have a boat that goes along the sassagoula river to and from there. It’s a lovely 15 min cruise along the river and a really nice and relaxing way to get there. |

Sorry missed the part about the dining plan!
Are both your children over the age of 10 so classed as an adult for the dining plan? If so they when you check in you will have 8 meal credits for each day automatically on your account. So if you are staying for 10 days you will have 80 quick service meal credits and 40 snack credits. They are yours to use at any time and in any combination you like, you are not restricted to using 2 meals credits each per day. A meal credit normally covers a combo meal such as a burger and chips, and a drink. The staff working at the restaurant are normally very good at letting you know what you can get each time. If your children are under the age of 10 then when you check in you will have 40 adult credits and 40 child credits and when there is a child meal available then they must choose one of them, if not you can get them anything on the menu. Hope I’ve explained that all ok! Edited at 01:16 PM. |

Last thing on the Dining is don't forget to pick up your resort mug, these can be used in any resort but not in the parks.
There's a bus from MCO( basically used to be the free Disney bus) fairly sure it's $16/person/journey so for 4 of you a bit expensive but it does drop you off at Reception- worth noting though that it will be a multi drop so probably the 4 Disney Springs hotels - POR/POFQ/OKW/SSR You'll get used to the buses & the boats are frequent. If you want to go further afield there's Uber/Lyft or get to Disney Springs there's also Lynx bus if you want to go to Universal for instance. SD

Hi, we arrive two days before you and are doing the dining plan but we are staying at CBR. we will use skyliner for two parks and buses for the other two. we have hired car so cant help re other options re getting to WDW but as me and my two little ones are quite fussy re what we like to eat i have checked all menus on the dining plan restaurant options so i could narrow down which restaurants to target in particular parks. we are planning on taking cereal and having breakfast in rooms prior to heading out so lunch and dinner covered with dining plan.
Have a great holiday |

Hi!
We are hopefully going to be there around the same time! We stayed at the resort in 2018 and it's lovely. It's a good idea to have a look at all the menus /options available food wise before you go. https://www.disneyworld.co.uk/dining/ If you filter it by 2024 dining plan and quick service (not all the '25 locations are finalised yet) and then sort it by location it will show all the available restaurants and kiosks in each different location. Worth checking the menus and also looking at some reviews etc as some are definitely better than others! The good thing about riverside is you can get the boat to Disney Springs... lots of good food options there (and many v good quality) - we loved the polite pig, blaze pizza and earl of sandwich. Also worth noting adults can get an alcoholic with meals and you can use your snack credits to get any size drink from Starbucks! Hope you have a great holiday xx |

Oh and there's also a large food court in the resort so you can get meals and snacks there all day plus you can refill your cups there (they have all sorts - coke sprite root beer coffee hot choc ice tea etc!)

Oh me again! You can also walk (about 10 mins) to the sister resort Port Orleans French Quarter, and use their pool and food court too. We did that last time, worth going to get the beignets!
