... sorry to hear that it's a tricky time for some though xx

Christmas Eve will be a normal working day for me and my husband. Our 18 & 17yr old boys both work at McDonald's, so they will probably be working too. We often have a takeaway for dinner, and a few drinks 🎄

Christmas Day is at my brother's. He has a huge house, and there's plenty of room for everyone. I'm one of 4, as is my SIL. So their house is always bursting at the seams! Last year she cooked for 23 of us... there were 6 dogs too! This year, I think it will 'just' be 14 of us. They live about half hour away. We will get a taxi both ways as we like a drink. We will have a new dog this year, so getting 2 of them, and all of us, in the taxi will be fun 🙈😂. We will come home about midnight after eating a big traditional roast, a mountain of my mum's sausage rolls, and drinking more than our fair share of champagne and cocktails 🍸 😀. I'm also in charge of the cheese board, so that will last us a few days too! We will have Vienetta for pudding... that's the Christmas Rules 😉

Boxing Day is usually at the beach as my younger son likes to 'Dip'. But our most local one has been cancelled this year due to not being able to meet the requirements for public liability insurance 😢. I expect we may travel to find another one somewhere 🏊

In the afternoon, we've got everyone coming to us, probably about 16 or so, and we will go for a dog walk somewhere. I'm doing heinz tomato soup (requested!), crusty rolls and a cheese fondue 🫕

On the Friday, I will work a half day, then have my step daughters, their husbands, and our 2 granddaughters over. My mum will come too. I usually do a huge buffet, but think I'm going to do Mary Berry's Tuscan Chicken this year. A huge vat of it that I can make in advance and freeze!

My boys will be in and out, and working too. And they may well bring friends round. Our door's always open, and we love spending time with friends and family. We're lucky to be able to share the festivities with as many people that want to be here 🎅
Sounds wonderful. I love the there will only be 14 of us 16 of us ha ha! Have a fabulous time.

It absolutely does. The thinks me and hubby remember about our grandparents having us over at weekends and stuff and mine don’t get that. The grandparents come maybe 6/7 times a year for an afternoon and that’s it

We will be in on Christmas eve while I boil a ham. Then a Christmas film and a takeaway. Going to the Beefeater for Christmas day, our Christmas day focused on poppy opening her presents, my daughter always bought her jumpers and Christmas outfits to wear. We cant bear being at home without her. Boxing day at my son's and dil house if they can finish decorating in time, or i'll do a buffet here. Cut down on Christmas presents as we are off to New York for my husbands 60th birthday. Next year we hopefully will have a dog x 🙏

I’ll be working on Christmas Eve until 5pm then our daughter is coming to stay the night as our grandsons are with their father and we don’t want her to be waking up to an empty house.

Christmas Day our grandsons will arrive around 1pm and the our eldest son will arrive about 2.30pm after he’s dropped his wife off at work.

Not sure if we’ll see our other 2 sons and granddaughters.

Think we’re going to our youngest sons on Boxing Day then back to work on the 27th

It's our first year without a dog too Sandra. It's really hard isn't it.
