Going back after 10 years.

Hi i'm thinking of going back to Orlando with the family after a 10 year break. We always used to book everything separate before for a cheaper price, and i'm wondering if this is still the case or is it cheaper for a package trip for flights and accommodation etc etc. Look forward to your thoughts.

We’ve done a mixture of DIY and package holidays. The cheapest deals we found were TUI late deals in May but it depends if you’re tied to school holidays.

Generally it’s usually most cost effective to do it cheaper but if your just staying in a hotel like on idrive for example you can get a cheap flight and hotel package here and there.
Prepare yourself for massive price increases from 10 years ago lol, everything’s a lot more pricey and with the pound being a lot weaker too you feel it even more!
Generally everything can be done on a budget if needed though👌

Just to expand on jasper's post I'd check out prices for everything before fully committing & prepare to sit down with a very strong drink! Also the days of it being "cheap" once you get there are long gone, food is either the same or more expensive than here.
Can't remember the last time we booked a package but we also own DVC so "only" ever need flights & tickets IYKWIM

I paid for me, DW and DD (was aged 4 in 2016 roughly £4700 for 2 weeks in September staying at CBR with 14 day ticket and the QSDP.
I checked the prices next year to get a rough idea for 2026 and since then we had a DS.
For 2 weeks at WDW with 14 day ticket, Free QSDP and staying at CBR or POR to get the 5th sleeper room for the last 2 weeks in August flying with Tui from Birmingham and it’s roughly costing £12000. I budgeted for £13000 with £1000 spending money and then another £1000 for clothes, holiday extras like insurance and other items so in total roughly £15000 but I been saving £30 a week since my last Orlando holiday.

We went last year after a ten year gap with our daughter and her family. Yes prices have gone up a lot but that didn’t surprise us - it did mean our shopping was a lot more in line with our duty free allowance than in previous years! We went for three weeks and still didn’t get everything done that we wanted to. So we are hoping to return in 26 and that might possibly be the last time for us being retired now. Enjoy it and make lots of memories.
