Very poor service from Amazon and others.

Ordered a new dishwasher with install today 7am-7pm.
Stayed in all day no one turned up and still not out for delivery at 6.45.
Chatted with them and they said they were sorry won’t be delivered.
Had paid £120 for deinstall, install (built in) haul away.
A supervisor offered me £20- what an insult. Then upped it to £30 which really got me angry.
After I demanded a refund there and then and said I was going to John Lewis they then offered me £120 refund and they are supposedly coming next Tuesday. They had better.
And my new car, I was driving around in it for nearly a month before I found out the dealer had failed to register it with DVLA. After making complaints about that I got £150 but I could have been pulled by police and technically my insurer could have refused cover if I’d been in an accident. How the heck can you sell a vehicle and forget to register it. I only found out by accident and I’d driven 1000 miles.

Why does poor customer service surprise us these days. My pet hate is the 30 minute wait when ringing 'customer services' to be constantly told 'your call is important to us'. If it was that important they would employ more people to man their phone lines.

You may be entitled to compensation if now having to take an additional day off work for the rescheduled appointment.

Now that really does annoy me and it makes them look ridiculously incapable.

Got a washer for amazon a couple of months ago & paid the extra £20 for uninstall & takeaway (I could install the new one myself). Due between 7am-7pm but would call 30mins before.

Turned up at 6:50am, no call & dumped it blocking the front door & walked off! Shouted after (I couldn't get out of the house!) about uninstall & they said they only do delivery & that it wasn't booked in!

I did complain to amazon later & they said sorry & I got £30 refunded. Even better I managed to drag the old one out to the end of the drive & a guy was taking it before I closed the door! Apparently he refurbs them for free for charities.

I'm moving away for buying from amazon now (only got the washer as it was the quickest delivery) because in part of a daft little annoyance where, since February, any ebooks I buy for my Kindle don't have front covers. It's a common thing in their support forum but they are basically saying nothings wrong but they'll give me a discount for a new kindle! Nah mate, already off to the kobo libra colour now! LOL

How random that the ebooks don’t have front covers - what is the reasoning for that? 🤷🏼

Yesterday we were ment to have an expensive item delivered by Amazon. It was 4 stops away then suddenly showed as delivered and handed to resident, no photo. As we were following it on the app we got straight on to Amazon and they are sending out a new one. I do wonder if it has something to do with Amazon new policy of reducing waste and putting shipping labels directly on to the packaging. If as I expect the driver will no longer employed by Amazon.

We got a tumble dryer 2 years ago from Amazon, we didn’t need installation but did pay for unpacking. They came and dropped it off and were leaving, I said I’d paid for unpacking, but they didn’t have it on there work plan. They only did it after I showed them my order.

By contrast we got our washing machine from AO about 3 years ago, and paid for installation, they were brilliant, must have been at the house for an hour making sure it was working and fully balanced.

We’re now looking for a new oven, oddly enough Amazon don’t offer installation, so we’d need to get our own electrician (which I’m not against but my husband is,) so it looks like we’ll be going via AO again.
