WDW - 14 Days - Start Date

Evening All.

After a year away from Orlando we are going back again next October - yay!

We are due to travel from 2nd-18th October and looking to get 14 days WDW tickets. I have noticed that these tickets cover 14 days access over 18 days and considered purchasing ticket dated 30th September as they are £300 cheaper than buying 3rd October and would still cover through to 17th October which would be our whole holiday.

I just wanted to check - if we purchased 14 day tickets is there any requirements to tap in on day 1 or can I purchase for 30th Sept and start using the tickets 3rd October?

Hopefully that makes some sense. It certainly did in my head!

No you can do that if it’s cheaper. Disney have no idea you are or are not in the country! Loads of people who stay onsite have tickets with a start date the day before they actually use them.

You can choose whatever start date you want if you're just buying tickets.

If you book a disney package with hotel and tickets, they automatically activate on check-in day and can't be moved anymore.

Yes you can definitely do this. Lots have.

Your tickets will start/activate on the 30th September but you don’t have to use them on that date. You get 14 theme park days over an 18 day period from the 30th sept. Water parks do not count as one of the 14.

Very easy to verify just go onto the website & choose a start date, anything in green is the ticket validity

I’ve been going to Disney for years and didn’t realise that the 14 day ticket was 14 actual days in the parks.
So basically on a 18 day trip the tickets will last the entire holiday as we will also be doing Universal, DC, BG, SW etc..

The Disney tickets changed a few years ago.

The old Ultimate tickets were valid 14 over 15 days.

The newer Magic Tickets are 14 over 18 days. It's a good compromise since they stopped the 21 day ticket.

That’s good to know as I’ve previously purchased the 21 day tickets so don’t feel as stupid now 👍🏻
