It really isn’t, and gives you far closer to a coffee shop coffee x

Sky13 thanks for the detailed review. I am thinking of buying a machine and that has been extremely helpful.

I love my Nespresso machine, I ummed and ahhed for so long and finally took the plunge and so happy I did! We have the Vertuo machine, my favourite pods are Stormio or Odacio with warm frothed milk and some monin vanilla syrup. If you have a John Lewis locally you can buy boxes of 10 pods from there as online you have to buy a minimum of 5 boxes. There is a big thread on here somewhere regarding Nespresso

I totally agree it’s so easy we got ours as a Christmas gift and wouldn’t be without it now.

Do you have to heat up the additional milk?

Nespresso makes back coffee - a variety off. If you want milk then you need to use the attachment which probably wont be in your hotel room - there are no capsules ,I am aware of, that come with dried milk in them

We swapped from dolce gusto to Nespresso earlier this year, the coffee is so much nicer! We have the vertuo machine so can’t get rip off capsules but we find them reasonably priced anyway and buy in bulk.

You're welcome! I discovered Nespresso at the end of last year and since then have managed to drink a slightly worrying amount of coffee... I've used quite a few of the OL machines in various places (Essenza mini, Inissia, Pixie, and my current one is a Creatista Plus) plus the Aeroccino.

If you are looking at buying a machine and think you might drink enough capsules - might be worth looking into the Nespresso subscriptions nespresso/uk/en/subscription and seeing if this is something that might work out for you. Otherwise there should occasionally be some discounts available on the machines.

If you want a hot latte - then yes you have to heat up the additional milk.

You can do this in a microwave if you have access to it - pour some milk into a microwave safe cup, microwave it, then put the cup under the Nespresso machine and make an espresso into it. Otherwise a stove, Aeroccino or other milk heating device would work for heating up the milk.

Alternatively, you can always just add the cold milk into the espresso - it makes a cold latte. I've done this on occasion (mainly at work where it's too difficult to heat up milk).

Lastly you could also make iced latte, just add cold milk and ice into the espresso - I make this frequently!

Resurrecting this thread as just treated myself to a Virtuo plus machine that comes with an aerocinno that should be here in a couple of days. It was half price and comes with 100 pods free. I must admit I have no idea what all the different pods are!

I enjoyed the Nespresso coffees, but I must be a heathen as didnt notice any difference from my dolce gusto, other than having to add milk. Am happy to stick to my lazy version that adds the milk for me!
