When I was a teenager I wanted to be a vet. I knew I wouldn’t get the grades at A level so studied zoology at University. I hated it, the course wasn’t what I expected and I didn’t enjoy Uni life. I left half way through my second year and got a job in finance. I was bored and realised I needed something more vocational. I then left that to join the police. I left the police after 13 years to improve my work/life balance and now have a job I love in the charity sector. I’m also studying for a degree in psychology. I am 39 and still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up!
I’m sure your daughter will forge her own path. Just allow her to do what makes her happy. Her generation could be working until they are 80 years old at this rate. |
