Cruising from San Diego

We're on the East Panama Canal this Sept. and looking at getting to the port. I can't find a price on DCL site (even in our reservation section) it says to phone them in the US - is there any way we can find out how much it would cost without phoning them?

We are arriving 2 days before and getting a hire car but looks like there is no car hire return at the cruise terminal so think we'll have to take it back to the airport and then get to the ship another way. We will have 4 cases plus hand luggage so an ordinary taxi wouldn't be any good altho' it would be the cheapest as apparently isn't very far away.

There are usually 'van type' taxis at the airport which will take four adults and the luggage you describe.

I think what we'll do now is DH will drop me and all the luggage off at the cruise terminal then go back to the airport and drop the car off then either catch a bus, trolley or taxi back to me and the luggage.

We've not got too long so will catch the hop on hop off trolley for a day and then go visit my penfriend of 35+ years and hopefully a little bit of shopping

If you've time we did a tour of Balboa park on a Segway and it was great. Got it on Groupon as well so saved money.

Also depends on the car hire company you use, Dollar for instance are located on the way into San Diego and not too far from the Cruise terminal so a taxi would be fairly cheap.

Hello 'neighbour'! We've booked with Alamo, also not sure where they are located. Altho' I guess they all have a shuttle that takes you back to the airport and we're hoping that will make it fairly easy to get a taxi etc

Ah, Junction 28 Dibbers!

Yes, you should have no difficulties in getting back to the airport then snagging a taxi to the cruise terminal. All quite close together really given that the airport is in the middle of the city. And a wonderful city it is too. Enjoy!
