Using my placeholder booking
We booked a placeholder last August and I want to book for next August.
Think we’ll be doing the 7 night eastern Caribbean but I’m unsure if I have to book direct to use my placeholder. It is better to book in dollars or pounds? Would I get a choice if booking direct with Disney? Thought I remembered that you get a discount when booking, is that right? Any advice to make best use of my placeholder would be much appreciated, this is the first time we’ve used one. Also if anybody’s done they eastern Caribbean would love to hear your feedback. We’re looking at a deck 10 aft cabin right at the back. Not done much research yet so not sure about best location on that cruise. We had one of the large wraparound balconies at the back of the dream last year and loved it. |

your placeholder would have been booked onboard in $ so I’m assuming that if you use the placeholder you’d have to book in $. The benefits of using your placeholder is that you only have to pay a 10% deposit on sailings 7 nights and longer and you get a 10% discount so it makes sense to use it. Also you would have paid a $250 deposit for the placeholder and that will be taken off the cost of your new deposit.

Our placeholders have been in £ sterling but we did ask for that at the time. We like to have our prices fixed in ££s.

We paid ours in dollars, does that mean I have to book in dollars?
Is it the same phone number to book either way? |

I really don't know, ring your usual usual number (which I'm assuming is in the UK) and ask, if they say you can't use your placeholder if you pay in £ then get a quote for the cruise you want in £ but don't book it. Ask for the price in $$ including your placeholder discount and see what the difference is. I'm fairly sure that the 10% discount would make it worth paying in $$

We paid the $250 deposit but asked for the place to be held in pounds. Not sure exactly how they worknit but it has meant in the past that we can book our cruise in £ and the rate was fixed on the place holder date.
