We also took a cab to the old town and the cab driver was brilliant - he waited for us despite us not knowing how long we'd be. Maybe he guessed we wouldn't be long!
Second to none, everyone we spoke to said the same thing, even those on the DCL excursions asks for their money back as they didn't get to enjoy anything.

Such a shame that not everyone got your experience.
Totally agree, we disliked the tour and the hassle. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to that port.

Do you think the photos that have been put up resemble what we saw though? The streets are empty in the photos, whereas the day we were there, it was packed.

Perhaps Feb is a better time to go!

Owing to an itinerary change we were docked in Cartagena from 6.30am to 12.30 pm. We were in the old town by 7.30 as you can see from the long shadows and quiet streets. We headed back to the ship at about 11am but it still wasn’t crazy busy.

The architecture was lovely but it couldn't be enjoyed properly due the harassment.

I didn't mind the busy streets, it was the behaviour and general uneasiness we felt while there.

The cruise - yes. The walk around Cartagena - no. Even the DCL tour groups were hassled. It was just awful.

Must be time of year as we were in the Old Town by about 9:30am and back on the ship by 11!
