Avis Preferred and preferred plus - additional driver
According to my avis app, I am an avis preferred customer.
I thought that as such, my BA Avis booking included an additional driver. I have seen many discussions through the years to suggest this is true, but the app says that you have to have 'preferred plus ' to get the additional driver perk. I was about to book a car to drive to the airport in UK and share the drive with DW, but am not sure this will work now Any thoughts? Is this different in USA and UK? DW might do a bit of the drive to the airport and from Vegas from LA if she is covered to drive. Thanks in advance to anyone in the know |

No direct experience of what you speak, but as an AVIS Preferred customer I also assumed as you do.
A quick google tells me that booking via the AvisBA partnership entitles you to a free additional driver worldwide. This is not the case if you book directly with Avis and do not invoke the BA Executive Club element... then you do indeed need to have hired 5 times and spent over a thousand euros in the year. You get one additional free driver through BA as an executive member. If I understand it correctly your wife or husband is automatically included without having to give licence details. We did not pay anything last time for my brother in law and if I remember it correctly it’s included in the car hire document BA tell you to print off in advance.
