Baseball match planning help

Hello,
We have tickets to watch the LA dodgers on 3rd July. I have made a booking to stay at a hotel nearby after the match and then first thing on the 4th July we are going to Huntington Beach for the 4th July events and staying the night there.
I�m now wondering if we should change the bookings and after the match head straight to Huntington Beach as I�m thinking the traffic might be awful on 4th July and better later at night but then I know it will be busy leaving after the match!?
What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that when I go to a game (and we're planning on seeing the Giants when we're in SF in August) I want to consume beer so driving would be out of the equation!
