Yosemite help please dibbers

Traveling to Yosemite next week. We are going from Oakhurst. How long will that approx take by car to get to the actual visitor centre and can we park at visitors centre? What entrance do we use? We have a tour booked and want to leave enough time. Many thanks Dibbers.

Hi easy drive 1.5 hours . Suggest you get there early as it all gets very busy. Better to have an hour or so mulling around.

Hi, we were at Yosemite just over a week ago. I can’t help with the drive as we were staying 5 minutes outside the West Entrance but would echo the above about getting there early as by about 11 all the car parks were full and some were closed. You can park further out from the visitor centre and use the free shuttle to get around although this too was very busy so allow extra time. You will love it, it’s one of our favourite places. Next week is likley to be very busy as its 4th July so allow plenty of time. It about 50 miles from Oakhurst, just follow the 41 past Wawona. It would normally be about 1:30 drive but i would allow more.
