I was on HR for the hurricane, and while the rain was absolutely torrential and the wind was strong, most villas seem to have gotten off lightly, with just pool screens blown out, and I did see two pool cages completely destroyed.

Our villa on Birkdale was completely unscathed, and the power stayed on... which was unusual as all the communities around us seem to have had at least some power outages. The HOA were out clearing away all the debris, and I guess by the time you get there you will never know they just had a hurricane!

I understand that Highlands Reserve has underground power lines, unlike most other places that have overhead power lines which are obviously going to come down/get damaged more easily during storms.

It's really very strange to think that Irma in all her ferocity passed through here a few days ago. You have to look closely to see the lingering effects - branches, twigs and leaves at the side of some roads, repair crews out and about.

There has been a massive clear up on Highlands Reserve even in the last 24 hours. We've even had the pool man come in today to clean the debris (not that there was a lot of it!) out of the pool.

There do seem to be a lot of cars left on the side of major roads though. Not sure if this is due to Irma or something else (they don't look damaged! )

The cars probably ran out of gas maybe?

Oh? What number? We were in 543, with a lovely conservation view, would definitely go back
