what to book first?
Keep changing my plans for my big birthday next year but think have decided on a few days in Orlando along with 4 night Bahamas cruise on Royal Caribbean(Disney was just too much for 6 people). Do you book cruise first and sort out the rest around that? It has to be school holidays so i am slightly worried cruise will sell out, how far in advance do people book cruises? We have never been on one before , am torn between Bahamas or missing Orlando and doing a Greek isle one ! If only money wasn't an object !

You will have to book everything around the date of the cruise. I usually book our cruise around a year in advance. I'm sure it doesn't have to be booked so far in advance but I like it booked early to make sure I get the cabin I want.

We have been looking into the same thing g and have just taken the plunge! It’s my 40th next April so we’ve booked a a 3 day Disney Bahamas cruise, then off to do Disney for 2 weeks. We booked the cruise yesterday - mainly because it’s Easter hols and I was worried about the price going up / selling out. We figured there are so many different options for flights - ie several airlines, choice of Orlando, Tampa, Sanford, that we would get flights to suit our budget. Worst case scenario we will fly indirect on the way home.
We also thought about a Med cruise but as we’ve never been on a cruise before, decided a shorter one would be less risk of hating it (very unlikely!) and also thought the seas around the Bahamas would be calmer than the Med! Edited at 09:31 AM. |

P.s, we’re taking the kids out of school for 3 days so we don’t lose the extra Orlando time!

We have booked our RC cruise first then planned around it.
It's worked out as 7 nights in Cabana Bay, 2 nights in seaworld, drive down to Fort Lauderdale, cruise for 7 nights then back to okw for 2 nights before the flight home. It's all been relatively straight forward to book and plan. |

We’ve actually done it all topsyturvy - booked flights as using air miles; reserved villa but left last week free with choices for cruises. We had been thinking DCL but RC is considerably cheaper and we get to see somewhere new ...
